Pizza Guys, a Sacramento-based franchise, is “thinking pink” as it partners with the American Cancer Society (ACS) this fall to support and help raise money for cancer research.

October 2023 marks the tenth year of Pizza Guys’ partnership with ACS, which the brand refers to as its “Raising Dough for a Cure” campaign. Over the years, the pizza franchise has helped raise a total of $352,000 for the ACS. That money goes toward cancer research and helps generally show support and raise awareness for those battling or affected by breast cancer.

For every large pizza sold, Pizza Guys donates a portion of proceeds. On top of that, Pizza Guys donates $1 to ACS for every Raising Dough for a Cure Special sold—a promotion where customers receive $4 off a large pizza at the regular menu price.

Pizza Guys’ customers also have the ability to donate to ACS. Donations are accepted at all Pizza Guys stores or online at the company’s website. To further honor cancer survivors, fighters and caregivers, large pizzas are served in pink boxes and employees will wear shirts designed for the Raising Dough for a Cure campaign.

“This year is extra-special because it marks our 10-year partnership with ACS. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $30,000,” Nejad said. “In addition to raising money, all stores were encouraged to go pink and participate in their local Making Strides Event. Our flagship Pizza Guys location [participated] in the Making Strides Walk in Sacramento on October 15 and was the presenting sponsor.”

Founded in 1986, Pizza Guys began franchising in 1994. The brand has since grown to over 80 stores across California, Nevada and Oregon.
