According to a news report from nwanews.com, “A Fayetteville pizza restaurant owner is taking credit for Gov. Mike Beebe killing the proposed milk tax.”
“We stopped the milk tax COLD!” Rolf Wilkin, owner of Eureka Pizza, says in an e-mail to his customers. “Beebe announced Monday that he opposed the tax and preferred another way to bail out the state’s dairy farmers,” said the story. “Wilkin met this week with Beebe and gave him a T-shirt with the logo of his business, Eureka Pizza, that said, “Pizza Lovers Thank Governor Beebe.” He sent e-mails to customers last Friday urging them to call the governor in opposition to the tax. Included in the e-mail was a $5 off coupon for any purchase of more than $10.”
