According to a news report from nypost.com, “A 20-year fugitive wanted in the notorious Pizza Connection drug-ring case was ready for his close-up when he stepped off a plane at JFK Airport – but all he got was a mug shot, The Post has learned.”
“Enrico “Kiko” Frigerio – unaware that he was still under federal indictment – was arrested by FBI agents as he returned to New York while assisting a Swiss TV crew filming a documentary about his colorful life, sources say,” said the story. “Frigerio had been among a rogues’ gallery of criminals here and in Italy implicated in one of the world’s largest heroin-trafficking cases – dubbed the Pizza Connection because pizza parlors across the United States were used as fronts to move nearly $1.6 billion worth of narcotics – in the mid-1980s.”
