According to a report from the Montgomery County News, “Domino’s Pizza and the New Caney Fire Department are rewarding customers who have properly functioning smoke detectors with FREE Domino’s pizza!”

“New Caney Fire Department has teamed up with Domino’s Pizza of Porter to deliver free pizzas, but there’s a catch. According to NCFD Lt. Jarod Griffin, the free pizza offer is a combined effort between that agency and Domino’s to promote fire safety. When a customer calls Domino’s and orders a pizza in the New Caney Fire Department coverage area, firefighters load up and deliver it.  If you have a working smoke detector the pizza is free. If you don’t have a smoke detector or the batteries are out firefighters will remedy the situation but you have to pay for your pizza. Last month, a New Caney resident with no smoke detector died in a house fire. The fire department suggests you change your batteries when you change your clock in the spring and fall. According to Kim Still with Domino’s Marketing the concept is not new. Several fire departments have participated in the past. This marks NCFD’s first year in the program.”
