According to a report on PizzaMarketplace.com, “California-based Pizza Port, a collection of pizzeria brewpubs, was named Large Brewpub and Large Brewpub Brewer of the Year for their Carlsbad, Calif., location at this year’s Great American Beer Festival.”
 
“The Solana Beach, San Clemente and Carlsbad locations also all received respective awards for their beer. The Carlsbad location was the biggest winner, with four gold, one silver and two bronze awards. Pizza Port was established in Solana beach in 1987. They started brewing beer on their premises in 1992. The Great American Beer Festival is considered the American brewing industry’s top public tasting opportunity and competition. This year’s attendance topped 49,000, with 495 competing breweries. The event is held yearly in the Colorado Convention Center.”
