According to a news report from theage.com.au, “Australian TiVo users will soon be able to buy groceries, order pizza, book a table at a restaurant, check flight information and access an array of on-demand TV and movie content using little more than their television remote.”

“But the poor exchange rate could next year push the price of the innovative TV recording device beyond the current price of $699, Australian TiVo boss Robbee Minicola said in an interview,” said the story. “Minicola said a desire to have TiVo on the market before the Beijing Olympics, and a need to keep the proposition simple for consumers, meant it was released without many of its most desirable features.”
