To cap off National Pizza Month, Pizza 73 will deliver a little slice of happiness to a number of children across Canada with the return of its Slices for Smiles fundraiser. From October 20 to November 16, Pizza 73 locations across Western Canada will sell a special $4.99 pepperoni smile 9” pizza. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of all “smile” pizzas support Children's Miracle Network and its member children's hospitals in Western Canada.

The pizza chain is rising to a new challenge this year and has set a goal to raise more than $350,000 for the 14 Children's Miracle Network member hospitals in Canada, in conjunction with sister brand, Pizza Pizza.

Pizza 73 stores across Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan will participate in Slices for Smiles. In addition to walking in to pick up a “smile” pizza, pizza lovers can also support the campaign by  topping off their purchases with a donation on orders placed by phone, online at Pizza73.com, in-store and through the Pizza 73 iPhone app. Funds that are raised locally will stay in the community to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network member hospital for that region.

“This campaign is a wonderful way to bring smiles to the faces of so many young people,” said John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer, Canada for Children’s Miracle Network. “By giving a donation to Slices for Smiles, customers can help save and improve the lives of children in communities across Western Canada.”

Each day, there are over 4,900 children who receive medical care from Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals across Canada. Making a donation to Slices for Smiles helps support research and training, purchase of new equipment and pay for uncompensated care.

“Donating to Slices for Smiles is a very small way to make a big difference in the life of a child,” said Pat Finelli, Chief Marketing Officer for Pizza 73. “We’ve had very positive feedback from the community in years past, and we hope to deliver many more smiles as a result of this year’s campaign.”

The Slices for Smiles Foundation was created in 2007 by Pizza 73's sister company Pizza Pizza to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary. Together, Pizza 73 and Pizza Pizza have raised more than $1.3 million since the foundation's inception.
