LOS ANGELES – Webcast Design and Branding Studio, dataTV (http://www.datatv.com/) invites you to view the re-designed website for Marina del Rey based, Take and Bake Pizza operation, Patty’s Gourmet Pizza (http://www.pattyspizza.com/).
With today’s bleak economic climate restaurants across the nation are struggling to survive against massive chains and an ever expanding cost-of-living. Patty’s has decided to switch from operating a Santa Monica storefront to exclusively offering their pizzas via telephone and online ordering.
To accomplish this, owner Patty Phillips hired dataTV, a longtime designer of websites for the food and restaurant industry to redesign their website and expand it into the mobile realm.
For this revamp, Patty’s website needed to be streamlined in order to make it more accessible and user-friendly to potential customers. In order to accomplish this feat, dataTV redesigned portions of the website to break away from the extensive Flash design previously used and added sleeker navigation, blogs, social media elements and smoother functionality to the site.
Ordering a pizza.
“The greatest problem with the previous website was that it took a series of clicks just to get to the Online Ordering section of the site.†Says Bell. “Even when you got to the place you thought you could order online, you still had to do one more click-thru to get to the online ordering section…and then you were in a completely different site!â€
Up until the redesign, Patty’s used a third-party system for online orders. With the new site design, everything is handled in-house. Thus saving Patty’s the monthly operation costs with utilizing a third-party hosted product.
Patty’s Gourmet Pizza is just the first in a number of food websites dataTV is building and/or redesigning this year. Currently, dataTV is In the process of the redesign of the site for the 5-unit, Culver City, CA based Tender Greens operation (http://www.tendergreensfood.com/) and like Patty’s will be switching to an in-house online-ordering system as well as a site designed specifically for mobile devices for easier online ordering. The site will launch in June 2010 about the same time Tender Greens opens its’ first location in Northern California.
