You know that feeling when you really don’t want to go out, but the guilt keeps you from flaking?” asks Papa Johns. “Papa Johns has teamed up with Uber Eats to make canceling plans not only acceptable, but delicious and rewarding.”

The pizza brand is playing on the name of its new menu item, the Papa Dippa, by introducing the Dip Out With the Papa Dippa. It combines Papa Johns’ new pizza, cut into 16 strips designed for dipping, with a guilt-free way to dip out of those plans customers would rather skip.

The brand explains how it works: Customers open the Uber Eats app, search Papa Johns and add the new Papa Dippa to their cart. They enter the host’s address and select “Send as a gift.” They can then add a note (such as “Sorry to dip out early—here’s pizza to keep the party going!”). Finally, they confirm their order and track the delivery as it’s made via Uber Eats.

“Papa Johns knows that everything is better dipped,” the brand announced for its new menu item launch. “That’s why we made Papa Dippa—our first pizza designed exclusively for dippin’ into three new garlic-forward sauces:

  • Roasted Garlic Parmesan: a creamy Caesar-style blend
  • Creamy Garlic Pesto: herbaceous, basil-forward richness
  • Garlic Hot Honey: sweet heat with a garlicky kick

“Papa Johns is flipping the script on the quiet exit,” the brand adds. “Whether you’re ghosting a football watch party or sneaking out of a date, Papa Johns lets you dip out with no regrets by sending a hot, shareable Papa Dippa as a delicious apology in your place.”

“At Papa Johns, our innovation pipeline is consumer-led and insight-driven. With the Papa Dippa, we’re leaning into what our fans love most—bold flavors, craveable dips and a format that’s fun to eat,” says Shivram Vaideeswaran, SVP of brand marketing at Papa Johns. “Pizza is perfect for all of life’s moments, including the ones you’re excited about and the ones you’d rather skip. In a world where the quiet exit and last-minute ‘sorry, can’t make it’ texts have become the norm, our partnership with Uber Eats is turning those moments into something everyone can feel good about. ‘Dip Out’ is our way of celebrating that energy.”

The Papa Dippa is available nationwide for $13.99, for a limited time only.
