“Otto Pizza plans to open a new restaurant near Boston University’s campus next month, according to the Portland, Maine-based company’s ownership,” according to Boston.com.

“The space at 888 Commonwealth Ave. was formerly an Upper Crust Pizzeria, which closed in early June.

Anthony Allen, who co-owns Otto Pizza with fellow Massachusetts native Mike Keon, said in an e-mail he expects to open a 50-seat restaurant serving beer, wine, and the same food menu as other locations his company runs.

He said he anticipates the branch to make its debut Aug. 15.

It will be Otto Pizza’s third Boston-area location in addition to restaurants in Portland.

The other local Otto Pizza shops are in Coolidge Corner and in Harvard Square. The Brookline shop opened directly across the street from an Upper Crust Pizzeria about two months ago. The Cambridge spot opened in early 2011.”
