SAUSALITO, CA, Jun 08, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) — EntertainmentXpress, the entertainment distribution division of Public Media Works, Inc. /quotes/comstock/11k!pubm (PUBM 0.75, 0.00, 0.00%) , today announced it has begun rolling out its DVD digital entertainment platform in key Pizza Hut locations operated by Aurora Huts LLC of Mars, Pennsylvania. Aurora Huts is one of the largest and credited to be one of the most innovative Pizza Hut(R) franchise organizations in the world with over 155 stores in Pennsylvania and Florida.

EntertainmentXpress provides a convenient way for consumers to buy or rent movies, games and other entertainment media through kiosks located in quick-serve food locations, grocery stores and other high-traffic, public venues.

“I think it is a great benefit for the Pizza Hut brand and our community of customers to introduce the EntertainmentXpress DVD movie and game kiosk to our stores,” said Mike Buss, COO of Aurora Huts LLC. “It is in keeping with our commitment to offer value-added services to our customers, and from a business perspective, we believe we can differentiate ourselves from others by providing an in-store service that increases our foot traffic and offers a way to encourage customer loyalty and repeat business. It’s a win-win partnership.”

The new “pizza and a movie” concept is made possible through Public Media Works’ March 2010 contract with Aurora Huts. With the installation of the EntertainmentXpress DVD kiosks in these Pizza Hut locations, customers will be able to order both pizzas and movies at the same time — whether by phone, over the Internet or in a store.

According to Bill Zabit, Chief Marketing Officer for EntertainmentXpress, the company plans on working with Pizza Hut stores to bring them the exclusive advantage of integrating with their phone, web and point-of-sale ordering systems to deliver pizza and a movie to homes, offices and hotels. “This could represent a huge marketing and sales advantage to Pizza Hut stores while further differentiating them from current competitors,” Zabit said.

“I am thrilled that we are kicking off the Pizza Hut rollout with Aurora Huts,” said Garrett Cecchini, Chairman and CEO of Public Media Works. “They are one of the true franchise market innovators — a group that is always thinking about how new technologies create superior values for their customers.”

In addition to the rollout of its DVD digital entertainment platforms in Pizza Hut locations, EntertainmentXpress is also taking its innovative DVD kiosks to other quick serve restaurants. The company announced in April 2010 that it has signed agreements with five leading Popeye’s franchisees in the greater Houston, Texas area. These franchisees operate 74 of the highest volume Popeye’s stores in Houston.
