OLD FORGE — For about $300, the public can “own” businesses such as Jitty Joe’s or Cafe Rinaldi.

According to a news report from www.thetimes-tribune.com, “Whether it be an ice cream stand, restaurant or other type of business, the transactions are only for fun.”

“Old Forge-Opoly, a customized version of Parker Brothers’ classic real estate board game, has arrived, and residents will have the opportunity to buy the games in the Pizza Capital this week for $20,” said the story. “Anyone who bought a patron ad during the fundraiser, however, can purchase up to three games at $15 each.”

“The games are being sold as a fundraiser by the Old Forge Elementary Parent-Teacher Association, with proceeds to go for class trips for all elementary students, school-sponsored dances and fun nights, health and safety awareness programs, and seminars and informational meetings for PTA members,” according to the article. “Games can be purchased Sunday at Jitty Joe’s ice cream shop on Moosic Road, Old Forge, from 6 to 9 p.m.; and June 14 at the Old Forge Borough Building from noon to 4 p.m., or until the games are sold out. About 400 games have been sold through preorders, but there are still about 350 available.”
