Carlstadt, NJ – May 13, 2009 – In most economic downturns companies cut back on expense, not the case for the Betson Enterprises office in Syracuse NY.

On April 18th Betson Syracuse held its 10th annual Turning Stone Expo in Verona NY. Betson chose this opportunity to inform and educate their operators in attendance on how to remain profitable during these tough economic times.

The latest equipment that was recently shown at the ASI Show in LasVegas was on display and being demonstrated by representatives from the major manufacturers. Over 100 pieces of amusement and vending products from 45 different factories were available for all to test.  It was quite an impressive showing of new revenue opportunities.

While most open houses would end there, Betson Syracuse felt the need to do more. Dave Lerner, Branch Manager, enlisted the help of some of the industries finest to deliver seminars on how to navigate through these rough economic waters.

David Cohen from Firestone Financial and Kevin Fritz with Betson Financial Services offered their insights on the economic trends of today and their thoughts on what the future might hold and how to use financing to create positive cash flow.  A very informative and entertaining seminar on how to use promotions to generate not only more revenue from existing machines but also how to increase the location satisfaction with operators services was given by Don Pescone of ITS games and Ryan Cravens who is with Play Mechanix. Just prior to the opening of the exhibit hall, David Katz from Bonita Maria and Jim Dupree from Smart Industries demonstrated how to effectively operate, merchandise and market redemption prizes.

Aaron Lerner from Betson Syracuse focused his seminar on the coffee service industry, which is still a steadily growing segment of the vending business and discussed the potential profits that can be captured through existing locations that currently have amusement equipment by adding coffee services featuring the Lavazza BLUE capsule system. In closing, an ATM seminar was hosted by Joe Rivetto, from Access to Money who explained how easily it is to increase location satisfaction while increasing their revenue stream.

The 5 seminars captured the attention of many operators with up to 20 companies attending each session. In all the seminars we very uplifting, enlightening and most importantly, the presenters explained to the operators the many ways to generate additional revenue with little or no effort.

Over 100 operating companies and more than 400 attendees came to the expo looking for new equipment, ideas and answers on how to grow their business. With the line-up of products and seminars that were offered, Betson sent a message loud and clear that that our industry is good!
