Nick’s New Haven-Style Pizzeria & Bar (www.nickspizzeriabar.com) is opening its second location in Coral Springs, Florida on June 16th. Nick’s will be the only pizzeria in the area to feature New Haven-style apizza (pronounced ah-BEETZ), the unique style of thin-crust pizza created in New Haven, Connecticut.

The restaurant’s official grand opening party and ribbon cutting will be Thursday, July 17th at 6 p.m. A Family Fun Day, with free pizza, a balloon artist, a photo booth, DJ and more will be Saturday, July 19th from 1-3 p.m. To attend either event, please emailRSVP@thebuzzagency.net.

Nick’s, the coal fired, brick oven pizzeria, is home of the specialty 18-inch white clam pie. Owners Nick Laudano and Anthony Giovanniello first brought the concept to Boca Raton in 2011.

Located at 2444 N. University Drive in the Royal University Plaza, the 5,200-square foot pizzeria, bar and lounge will offer guests a nostalgic atmosphere with the traditions of New Haven and the swank of New York City.

Restaurant Designer Karen Hanlon once again helped to create the distinctive look that Nick’s patrons have come to know, including the one-of-a-kind wallpapered ceiling with authentic advertising and the specially crafted, hand-built brick ovens known as “The Dragons.”

“We are very grateful for the success we’ve had in Boca Raton and are excited about the opportunity to bring our concept to Coral Springs,” said
Giovanniello. “Nick’s is unlike anything in the area and will be a great addition to the family-oriented community.”

Since opening in the fall of 2011, the Boca Raton location has consistently been recognized amongst the best pizzas in South Florida. “We take our pizza very seriously and the product speaks for itself,” said Laudano. “Our dough recipe has been perfected over the course of 20 years.”

Nick’s is best known for its specialty White Clam Pie. In addition to apizza, other regional specialties include Hummel hot dogs and East Haven, Connecticut Foxon Park sodas, crafted since 1922 in flavors such as White Birch and Gassosa. The menu will also feature a wide range of pastas, entrees, coal fired grinders and fresh salads. Standouts include House-made Ricotta Spinach Gnocchi, Linguine and Clams and a perfectly Grilled Skirt Steak with mushroom risotto and broccoli rabe.

The Coral Springs Nick’s, with 200 plus seats and a covered patio, will be open Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12 a.m.; Sundays from 12 noon to 10 p.m.
