Newsweek wants readers to choose the “best pizza chain” for 2025 in an online poll running through noon on July 31.

For the Readers Choice contest, Newsweek readers can cast a vote for one of 15 major pizza brands, including, in alphabetical order:

Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings
Blaze Pizza
California Pizza Kitchen
Domino’s
Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana
Giordano’s
Godfather’s Pizza
Jet’s Pizza
Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Marco’s Pizza
Mellow Mushroom
MOD Pizza
Mountain Mike’s Pizza
Papa Johns
Rosati’s Pizza

“This nomination is a tribute to the fans who crave our bold flavors and to the team members who deliver handcrafted excellence in every store, every day,” said Denise Lauer, chief marketing officer for Marco’s Franchising, LLC. “It motivates us to continue evolving, elevating and innovating—all while staying true to the quality and service our guests expect.”

Marco’s was also recognized earlier this year in Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Customer Service in the Pizza Chains category. Marco’s ranked No. 3 on that list behind Mellow Mushroom (No. 1) and MOD Pizza (No. 2) and ahead of Jet’s Pizza (No. 4) and Pizza Ranch (No. 5).

Several of the pizza chains on Newsweek’s Readers Choice poll are largely regional brands—such as Frank Pepe, Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s. It’s a bit of a David vs. Goliath battle since they have been pitted against national brands like Papa Johns and Domino’s, which boast locations in many of the smallest markets across the U.S. New Haven icon Frank Pepe, for example, has just 17 stores.

Fans of Chicago tavern- and deep dish-styles will have to choose between three chains that are better known in the Windy City than anywhere else. In addition to 61 locations in Illinois, a total of 10 Chicago-based Lou Malnati’s restaurants can be found in Arizona, Wisconsin and Indiana. Similarly, Giordano’s presence is heaviest in Illinois, but it has two stores in Florida, two in Indiana, and one apiece in Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio, Nevada and Wisconsin.
