Kingy’s Pizza Pub, a local neighborhood restaurant located in Canal Winchester, OH, was recently recognized in Restaurant Hospitality’s 2014 Best Sandwiches in America contest.
Kingy’s received an honorable mention for its signature Reu-Bert sandwich in the deli category of the Best Sandwiches in America contest. Every year, Restaurant Hospitality editors receive thousands of entries to choose the best sandwiches in the Unites States. This year, the contest received nearly 2,000 total entries. Kingy’s Reu-Bert sandwich was named as one of the best deli sandwiches, a winner among over 400 entries in that category.
The Reu-Bert sandwich is a favorite among customers at the neighborhood pizza pub. The Reu-Bert is a variation of the classic reuben. The famous 2 lb. sandwich, named after owner Bert Reynolds, is piled high with cornbeef and pastrami, topped with a homemade spicy thousand island dressing.
“I’ve always loved reubens and wanted to create a signature sandwich for Kingy’s,” says Reynolds. “I’m honored to have our Reu-Bert recognized as one of the best sandwiches in America. It’s very exciting.”
