As pre-registrations continue to mount for the upcoming National Pizza and Pasta Show, Expo Media is still giving away free copies of “The Ultimate Chicago Pizza Guide: A History of Squares & Slices in the Windy City,” penned by food writer/TV personality Steve Dolinsky, to the first 100 pre-registered attendees.

Featuring 400 exhibitors in the pizza restaurant industry, the National Pizza & Pasta Show takes place August 23-25 in Rosemont, Illinois.

Pizzeria operators can pre-register to attend the show for $50 until May 1 (a $100 value) by visiting www.nationalpizzashow.com and clicking on the Register to Attend button.

“The Ultimate Chicago Pizza Guide” looks at the history of the styles, locales and people that make Chicago a prime pizza destination. Dolinsky is a 13-time James Beard Award-winning food critic and the owner of Pizza City USA/Chicago Pizza Tours. The longtime food media personality was known to ABC 7 Chicago’s viewers as the Hungry Hound. In August 2021, he took on the new role of the Food Guy for NBC 5, reporting on Chicago’s food scene every Thursday night at 10 p.m.

In addition, Dolinsky has served as a judge or contributor on culinary shows like “Iron Chef America” and “Unique Eats.”

“The Ultimate Chicago Pizza Guide” is organized by pizza style—including thin, tavern, artisan, Neapolitan, deep-dish, stuffed, by-the-slice, Roman, and Detroit—so pizza fans can find the right recommendation for every family member, visitor and occasion. The book also features recipes, gluten-free recommendations, local beer pairing tips, and a list of 50 new must-try pizza shops, making it an essential resource both for locals and for visitors in search of a serious pizza getaway.

The National Pizza & Pasta Show will feature 400 exhibitors with products, services and equipment for the pizza and pasta restaurant industry, along with seminars, workshops, live demos and a competition hosted by the U.S. Pizza Team. Up to 6,000 pizza/foodservice operators and distributors are expected to attend the event, which takes place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Seminars will cover topics like franchising restaurant concepts, ghost kitchens, food trucks, plant-based toppings, catering, third-party delivery, and controlling food costs. In live demonstrations, leading pizzaioli will show attendees how to make everything from Chicago-style deep-dish and tavern thin-crust pizza to Detroit-style and Roman-style pies.
