According to a press release, Restaurant Business magazine yesterday released the highly anticipated Future 50 list of emerging restaurant chains for 2009.  Nancy’s Pizza, with over 40 locations throughout Chicago, Suburbs, Indiana and Atlanta, was chosen Top 13 of 50!  “This year’s crop of rising-star restaurant companies includes examples from almost every type of menu concept, from seafood to Mexican; barbecue to coffee; Asian to ice cream.”

The Future 50 is the magazine’s annual ranking of the fastest growing restaurant chains between $25 million and $50 million in annual sales. Compiled each year by Technomic Inc., these chains have proven their concepts while still maintaining their innovative entrepreneurial spirit.

“The Future 50 exemplifies the best this industry has to offer,” said Sam Smith, Editor in Chief, Restaurant Business and MonkeyDish.com. “Innovation and flexibility are important traits at any time, but particularly during this current economic climate. The Future 50 winners have demonstrated a commitment to these entrepreneurial skills that have helped build their chains.”

“We are thrilled to be selected for this honor, but our franchisees deserve the credit for operating well run and profitable restaurants,” said Dave Howey, President of Chicago Franchise Systems, Inc., the franchisor of Nancy’s Pizza restaurants.
