Mellow Mushroom, the unique, trippy pizza brand with over 170 stores, is leaning into National Mushroom Day, which takes place October 15.
Via press release, Mellow Mushroom reminded its followers that it is there to help them celebrate the holiday, even if it’s a lesser known one.
“From truffle-infused pizzas to ‘shroom-centric calzones and hoagies,” the press release said. “The menu is a treasure trove for mushroom fanatics everywhere.”

Highlights include:
- Holy Shiitake Pie (a fan-favorite!) featuring an olive oil & garlic base topped with shiitake, button and portobello mushrooms, caramelized onions, mozzarella and Wisconsin aged white cheddar, all finished with a garlic aioli swirl, a spritz of black truffle oil and garnished with fresh chives and shaved parmesan.
- Veggie Calzone filled with spinach, Roma tomatoes, provolone, seasoned ricotta and a generous portion of mushrooms that add rich, earthy flavor.
- Veg Out Pizza featuring green peppers, sweet onions, Roma tomatoes, black olives, spinach and sliced mushrooms sprinkled on top of mozzarella.
- House Special Pizza with pepperoni, Italian sausage, honey ham, ground beef, applewood smoked bacon, black olives, Roma tomatoes, green peppers, sweet onions and sliced mushrooms, all finished with extra mozzarella.
- Steak or Chicken Hoagie with mayo, lettuce, Roma tomatoes, melted provolone, choice of grilled shaved all-natural steak or teriyaki chicken, grilled onions, mushrooms and green peppers, served on a grilled and buttered hoagie roll.
In addition to the ‘shroom lineup, Mellow Mushroom offers a menu of hand-tossed, stone-baked pizzas alongside a vast selection of munchies, greens, calzones, hoagies and sweets, with plenty of gluten-free and vegan options for dietary-friendly diners.
Behind the Mellow Mushroom bar, guests can enjoy a selection of fun, handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, wines and beer, including those from local breweries.
