McCormick & Company Inc., a global leader in flavor, today announced the launch of FlavorCell®, a new, innovative line of encapsulated flavors. The news comes from the Custom Flavor Solutions business unit within McCormick’s U.S. Industrial Group.
FlavorCell technology allows for the design of flavor protection and controlled release in a wide range of processing environments. Through custom design of size, shape, color and matrix material, flavor delivery can be designed to solve specific flavor challenges and deliver a superior flavor experience for the consumer in cereal, food bars, bakery products, crackers, beverages and confectionary.
McCormick’s new custom designed, state-of-the-art manufacturing line allows for the production of a range of FlavorCell products that are unique in the marketplace. “ FlavorCell’s flavor delivery platforms offer several functionalities, providing product developers with differentiating tools to deliver superior flavor across a wide range of applications,” said Dr. Suzanne Johnson, Director of Flavor and Applications. The new line is located in one of the McCormick facilities in Hunt Valley, Md.
