Pittsburgh – October 28, 2010:    Since 1979, Mandy’s Pizza (www.mandyspizza.com), with two locations in Pittsburgh, PA, has been winning awards and accolades for great food, unique menu items, and fantastic service for the past 32 years.  With a proven business model taken from it’s two successful Pittsburgh locations, it’s now only natural for owner Steve Negri to evolve his product offerings and take his show on the road.  After months of demographic research, Mandy’s Pizza has set its sights on the Ladera Ranch area of Orange County California.

“Restaurant failure comes from the inability to implement a “life-cycle” approach; restaurants need to be more than over-priced food that can be made at home.”   Says Steven Negri

When a family goes out to eat, one of the biggest problems is that kids don’t like to go out with the parents; especially the teens!  Mandy’s offers that solution.  When a young adult goes on a date and is at a loss for words…Mandy’s has that solution, too.  And finally, when these kids become adults, they clearly remember how they were treated, and know they too want their children to experience fun times and great interaction – along with great food at fair prices, hence, the successful life-cycle of a Mandy’s restaurant.

As the owner of Mandy’s Pizzas two locations in Pittsburgh for almost 10 years, and coupled with an extensive background in Public Relations, Steve is more than prepared to jump head first into what California and Ladera Ranch offers.  And, along with the financial backing of local Nellie Gail entrepreneur’s Mike Sandler, and childhood friend Matt Hrdlicka, who have engineered the successful start-up of six businesses themselves (with ongoing revenues of close to thirty million dollars), Mandy’s will be poised to take it’s flagship West Coast location in Ladera Ranch on the road once again no later than the Fall of 2011.

“While we have both lived here for the past 20+ years, we have never experienced a menu that is both unique and centered of both quality and affordability, Southern California has no idea what they have been missing.”   Says Matt Hrdlicka and Mike Sandler, Partners

With a planned opening Wednesday, November 3rd, Mandy’s will offer dine-in, take-out and home delivery- there will be no reason our local customers cannot enjoy our food in a way that accommodates their lifestyle.  With the areas largest pizza, wings, hoagies (subs) and their unique “Strip District” sandwich, coupled with top-of-the-line ingredients offered at fair prices, it would be a crime to not stop by and try out Mandy’s.  And for those with that suffer from either food allergies or gluten intolerance, Steve has developed the only allergen-free pizza in the United States.  In addition to pizza, Mandy’s offers gluten-free flatbread sandwiches, calzones (first come-first serve), as well as the areas largest and juiciest gluten-free hot wings.

“The day I came home and my eight-year-old son Brandon asked if he could “smell” the pizza that I had made, my wife and I knew we had to find a way for people with food allergies to enjoy dining out again.” “The smiles and thanks you get for helping people enjoy food is overwhelming and humbling.” Says Steven Negri, Owner and father of a son who suffers from severe food allergies.

Founded in 1979, Mandy’s Pizza was an innovator in the Pittsburgh area by being one of the first to offer home-delivery.  They have also won awards for being Best Pizza in the Pittsburgh, as well as a top-ranking at the annual Pizza Pizzazz Competition sponsored by NAPICS, the North American Pizza and Ice Cream Expo, located in Columbus, Ohio.
