To address food insecurity in the community, St. Louis-based Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria plans to donate 500 frozen pizzas to local food banks.

Co-owner Katie Collier, whose restaurant offers wood-fired artisan pies, developed a new frozen pizza menu earlier this month. In addition to a Margherita pizza, the menu includes the Meatball Pizza, the Fig, Squash & Bacon Pizza, the Super Ezzo Pepperoni Pizza and the Extra Creamy Tuscan Kale Pizza as well as pasta items, including Collier’s famous Black Spaghetti Pasta.

Katie’s Pizza & Pasta Osteria already does its part to feed the hungry in the St. Louis area, donating a frozen pizza to a local food bank with every frozen pizza order. In a promotion called Giveback Tuesdays, the restaurant also spotlights a local nonprofit organization once a month and dedicates all profits for the day to the charity.

For the holiday season, the restaurant will donate 500 frozen pizzas to Operation Food Search, the St. Patrick Center, the St. Louis Area Food Bank, Isaiah 58 and OASIS Food Pantry.

Katie’s will host Giveback Tuesday on November 24 to raise funds for Stella’s Wish Foundation, a Rock Hill nonprofit that grants wishes for adults diagnosed with life-threatening, Stage-4 cancer.
