Italy Police Nab Germans Who Left Kids at Pizzeria

According to a news article from www.washingtonpost.com, “A German mother and her boyfriend who abandoned her three small children at a pizzeria in northern Italy at the weekend were found on Thursday wandering in the woods about 10 kms (6 miles) away, Italian police said.”

“Ina Caterina Remhof, 26, and her boyfriend Sascha Schmidt astonished pizzeria staff in the city of Aosta when they stepped out, presumably for a cigarette, and did not return,” said the story. “Remhof left her three children — a 10-month-old baby boy, a four-year-old girl and a six-year-old boy — sitting at the table, in what one Austrian newspaper likened to a “dark fairytale from the Brothers Grimm.” Italian police said the pair had a history of drug addiction and financial problems.”
