Atlanta will celebrate Old Country food and beverage with its first Italian Night Out on September 22, featuring pies from the Atlanta Pizza Truck, drinks and desserts for Italians and Italophiles alike.

The event will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Factory Atlanta, an industrial event venue in Chamblee, Georgia, that specializes in corporate and charity events, weddings and other gatherings.

Atlanta Pizza Truck owner Alessio Lacco trained in Naples under master pizza maker Gaetano Esposito, the grandson of the man who invented the Margherita pizza. The AVPN-certified chef and his wife, Sofia Arango, transformed a three-wheeled, blue Piaggio ApeCar—a small, light utility vehicle developed in Italy—into a mobile pizzeria that hit the road in March 2020 for pop-ups, private events and weddings.

Alessio Lacco of Atlanta Pizza Truck

Before starting Atlanta Pizza Truck, Lacco served as the general manager at Toco Hills pizzeria The Local Pizzaiolo, which closed in late 2019.

The mobile pizzeria serves up handcrafted Neapolitan pizza baked at 900°. For the Italian Night Out event, Atlanta Pizza Truck will be sharing space at Factory Atlanta with the Italian-born, Atlanta-raised Tippy Tap Co., a vintage Italian truck equipped with six taps, and Paolo’s Gelato Atlanta, which offers a dozen creative, made-from-scratch gelato flavors.

Tickets for Italian Night Out are $35 and can be purchased here.
