A pizza oven manufacturer says it’s offering “the best job in the world”—tasting pizza for pay—and those with experience as pizza makers have a leg up on other applicants.

Ooni (formerly called Uuni) is looking to hire “pizza taste testers” from around the world to try out its “restaurant-quality pizza” made in 60 seconds by the company’s mobile wood-fired pizza ovens, which are designed for outdoor use. The company’s two models—the Uuni 3 and Uuni Pro—are “fully transportable and heat up to an incredible 932 degrees F in 20 minutes or less,” according to a press release.

Headquartered in West Lothian, Scotland, Ooni will hire multiple people to test out recipes for pizzas made in the ovens at home. The company describes the job as “a unique mix of recipe development, product testing and brand ambassadorship.” They’re looking for professional pizza makers and chefs, food stylists or “super-passionate” home cooks. “Experience making pizza dough and cooking pizza will be a huge advantage for candidates, but most importantly you must have an enthusiasm for cooking and sharing food with your nearest and dearest,” the announcement states.

New hires will receive their own pizza ovens, “with renumeration to be decided dependent on experience,” the company says. However, Thrillist reports that the job pays a base day rate of $300 for home cooks with no restaurant experience and up to $1,000 per day for professionals. Thrillist says "each tester will ideally be working at least two days per month."

To apply, candidates must submit a video (no more than one minute) “detailing why you’d be great for this role and showing us your epic pizza skills” to jobs@ooni.com. Applications will be accepted through Sunday, October 14.

According to Ooni’s website, the Uuni Pro is “the first outdoor oven to include a quad-fuel function, capable of running on wood, charcoal, wood pellets or gas. It can fire up to 932 degrees in just 20 minutes."
