Madison Heights, MI, August, 2011–While restaurants and pizza stores across the country are struggling, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, one of the nation’s largest pizza franchises and the originator of the Flavored Crust Pizza, has announced sales growth in the first half of 2011. First quarter same-store sales for Hungry Howie’s were up by 6. 72 percent and second quarter same-store sales were up by 7.57 percent.

“We believe that our Flavored Crust Pizza really sets us apart from the competition,” said Steven Jackson, president. “While other pizza chains are reporting decreases in sales, we have seen a significant increase. Our franchisees are doing well and we are continuing to open new locations. We are very optimistic about the rest of 2011.”

Founded in 1973, Michigan-based Hungry Howie’s has more than 500 locations in 24 sates. Hungry Howie’s is the originator of the Flavored Crust Pizza and one of the nation’s largest pizza franchises. The menu also includes oven-baked calzone-style subs, chicken wings and tenders, bread and salads. Crust flavors include original, buttered cheese, garlic herb, ranch, Cajun, butter, onion and sesame.
