According to NewsChannel5.com, “If a warm-hearted welcome home at Outlaw Field in Clarksville wasn’t enough Saturday, hundreds turned out Sunday to help a wounded soldier  who is finally back home.”

“‘I really love everybody coming out. It’s just awesome,’ said Sgt. Charles Allen, Ft. Campbell soldier. While Sgt. Allen was deployed in January, he stepped on an IED and lost both of his legs. Sunday at Bella Napoli Pizzeria, friends came to build his spirits, and support a fundraiser to help the family build a new home. The home will have a bedroom on the first floor, so it will be easier for Allen to maneuver. After hundreds of people showed up for his homecoming Saturday and again on Sunday, Allen was surprised and happy to see everyone. He says the outpouring of support this weekend has been sort of a whirlwind.”
