Robert’s Pizza & Dough Co., ranked No. 10 among the 100 best pizzerias in the U.S. by 50 Top Pizza this year, is wrapping up 2024 with a “one-night-only” ticketed dinner series to celebrate its fifth anniversary, plus several holiday specials and events to fill up seats in November and December.
Located in Chicago and owned by Robert Garvey, Robert’s was also named one of 50 Top Pizza’s best pizzerias in the world for 2024 and is a nominee for the Windy City’s best pizza in the prestigious 2025 Jean Banchet Awards.
For the holiday season, Robert’s will bring back its popular Thanksgiving Pizza from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, December 1. Offered for $30, the seasonal pie is topped with roast turkey breast, ‘za stuffing with pork sausage, fresh cranberry sauce, sweet potato puree, fresh mozzarella, asiago cheese, and mushroom gravy, all atop a crispy, chewy pizza crust.
Also for Thanksgiving, Robert’s Pizza will offer whole apple pies made with special pizza dough and apple filling. The pies must be pre-ordered by Monday, November 25, and picked up by Wednesday, November 27.
To honor its fifth anniversary, Robert’s Pizza will host a three-part dinner series beginning in December. The ticketed events will be held in December, February and April, taking guests on a gastronomic journey that includes the Mediterranean, the luxurious Orient Express, and the vibrant flavors of Latin America.
The Mediterranean dinner takes place Thursday, December 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. with featured wine pairings. The menu includes:
- The Chickpea Croquette with black lentils, carrots, fresh herbs, toasted sesame and extra virgin olive oil
- The Seafood Shakshuka Pizza with spicy tomato bell pepper sauce, shrimp, lobster, scallops, skate wings, caviar and harissa butter
- The Roast Lamb Pizza with olive oil, Calabrian chilies, dates, capers, almonds, macerated pear and cilantro
- The Loukaniko Pizza with orange zest, leeks, fennel sausage, Yukon gold potato, Corsican feta and red wine fig reduction
- The Honey Panna Cotta with pomegranate and black sesame pistachio tuile
Tickets for the dinner are $100 per person) and include wine pairings.
The Orient Express Dinner will be held on February 22, followed by the Latin American dinner on April 10.
Christmastime also means the return of The Nutcracker Pizza. The festive pie, priced at $30, features an olive oil base, fresh mozzarella, gorgonzola, dates and figs, finished with Calabrian pepper oil, burrata, speck, pistachios, toasted walnuts and a balsamic glaze. The Nutcracker Pizza Kits will also be available to purchase for $25. Kits include a dough ball, ingredients and instructions for one pie to assemble and bake at home. Both The Nutcracker Pizza and at-home kits ($25) will be available from Friday, December 6 through the end of the year.
And there’s even more fun in store for Robert’s customers next month. The company will hold its third annual “Howliday on the Patio & Ugly Sweater Brunch” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 14. Customers are invited to wear their ugliest/comfiest ugly sweater for complementary zeppoles (with the purchase of an entree). Brunch will be served until 2 p.m., with featured items including French toast, omelets, smoked salmon pizza, $30 mimosas and more.
The “Howliday” Pet Parade will also take place on Robert’s patio from 2 to 4 p.m. Guests can dress up their pups in holiday outfits for a chance to win the best-dressed prize, with three winners chosen. A professional photographer will be onsite to snap the perfect holiday photo, and cozy hot cocktails like the Hot Toddy, Mulled Wine and Robert’s Hot Cocoa will be available to keep pet parents warm.
