The first Houston Hungry Howie's is trying to match its Detroit mothership in breast cancer research giving.

KPRC Channel 2 in Houston airs an interview with Hungry Howie's franchisee Roscoe Overton in which Overton says his company will donate a portion of all proceeds in October, National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Hungry Howie's calls it the Love, Hope & Pizza Campaign. Over the last 7 years, the chain, which originated in Detroit, has raised  $1.7 million for breast cancer research and awareness. Overton says: "We've all been touched by breast cancer and I personally have friends who battled the disease." He urges those concerned about breast cancer to visit his Hungry Howie's store and "buy as much pizza as they can eat." In addition to food-based donations, patrons can purchase pink breast cancer awareness wrist bands and T-shirts at Hungry Howie's.
