To paraphrase a very old SNL catchphrase, baseball has been “beddy, beddy good” to Nello’s Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen, and Nello’s keeps repaying the favor.
Located in Phoenix, Nello’s has been supporting local Little League baseball for years with its seasonal Home Run Pizza promotion. As spring approaches, the pizzeria will bring the “hit” promo back for another year in 2026.
Every Ahwatukee Little League player who hits a home run this season will receive a free 8” two-topping pizza. Additionally, Nello’s provides free pizza to the league’s winter camp—including players and volunteers—starting in December.

In July 2025, Nello’s also offered pizza-making classes to the Tempe South Little League All Stars. In fact, Nello’s Instagram account prominently features Little League athletes year-round, positioning the restaurant as a community hub that cheers on youth sports, players and their families.
In return, the Home Run Pizza program was recently highlighted by a Phoenix TV station as part of a series called “Something Good.”
Nello’s opened in Ahwatukee in 1996. Wood-fired pizzas on the menu include the Pavone Pepperoni (Schreiner’s Pavone pepperoni, fresh mozzarella and torn basil); the Sajone (housemade sausage, Schreiner’s Pavone pepperoni, grilled radicchio, fresh mozz, sage and torn basil); and the Yukon Gold (olive oil, Yukon Gold potatoes, pancetta, rosemary, gorgonzola and mozz). All pizzas are available in deep-dish and hand-tossed varieties.
