Fast and fresh pizza will soon be on the menu as Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint makes its debut in Colorado. Denver resident James Smethie plans to bring the original create-your-own pizza concept to Denver, Fort Collins and Colorado Springs.

Smethie is a long-time Colorado resident and graduated from Colorado State. He learned of the top franchise from his cousin Stewart Geyer, an investor and Texas franchise owner of the brand. While his background is mostly in retail, he knew that the concept would be a winner for Colorado.

“We researched other chains, but fell in love with the philosophy and mindset,” said Smethie.

“Uncle Maddio’s is unique because it allows customers to come in and get exactly what they want without spending too much time or money.”

While pizza is a popular choice for many, choosing toppings that everyone likes can be a challenge. From the vegetarian to the meat lover, one pizza can't deliver it all. At Uncle Maddio’s everyone can have their own personal pizza prepared before them.

Known as “fast casual” in the restaurant industry, the format of Uncle Maddio’s translates to  9-inch individual, Medium or Large pizzas, topped with the freshest ingredients chosen by guests and baked in less than six minutes for $6.99. The restaurant chain is driving a new pizza trend by catering to customers’ expectations for great tasting, reasonably priced, and personalized pizza with high quality ingredients.

Led by one of the founders of Moe’s Southwest Grill, restaurant pioneer Matt Andrew’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to cook up the customized pizza restaurant.

“We’re looking forward to expanding into Colorado and are glad to have someone with deep roots in the community on board,” said Andrew. “Since 2009, we’ve perfected our service model and bring together the freshest ingredients that take pizza, salads and paninis to the next level right before our guests’ eyes. We’re proud that we’ve been the originator of fast casual pizza and are excited to offer this new, fresh experience to customers in Colorado.”

Smethie was very impressed with what matters most when it comes to creating the ultimate experience for customers: the food.

“Many people are increasingly health-conscious or may have dietary restriction. Uncle Maddio’s expansive menu really brings a fresh take on one of America’s most popular and beloved foods,” added Smethie. “You can be as healthy or indulgent as you want. With a focus on quality and variety, we’re able to offer five million choices and something for everyone.”

The fun begins when guests choose one of three crusts, including gluten-free and whole wheat options. They then have the choice of 48 toppings including six sauces, hormone-free chicken, fresh local vegetables, Daiya vegan cheese and organic greens.

The menu also features create-your-own salads with a vast variety of crisp garden-fresh vegetables, as well as a menu full of signature salads such asTuscan Antipasto, Orchard Chicken Salad, and Santa Fe. Toasted panini sandwiches, including choice creations such as Maddio’s Steak and Cheese, Basil Chicken, Tuscan Meatball, Turkey Bacon Cheddar and more.

Uncle Maddio’s has proven to be one of the fastest growing fast casual pizza concepts. In addition to the latest locations in Colorado, the franchise group is expanding with 165 units in development. Key expansion markets include Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
