Founded in Brooklyn, New York, Emmy Squared Pizza is ramping up a growth phase. After naming four new executives, the 28-location Detroit-style pizza brand—which also serves burgers, amongst other things—believes it has the team in place to expand nationwide.
On Monday, Emmy Squared named Troy Tracy its new CEO. Tracy previously served as chief operating officer of Ascent Hospitality Management, where he primarily oversaw Huddle House. Tracy also served in executive roles for Arby’s and McAlister’s. According to a press release from Emmy Squared, Tracy will “further develop the brand and advance the status of Emmy Squared Pizza to become the category leader in the casual dining segment.”
“I am honored and thrilled to lead Emmy Squared Pizza into the next era of strategic growth and development,” Tracy said. “The appointment of the new executive leadership team, coupled with the strong foundation already in place, emphasizes our continued commitment to deliver an elevated culinary experience in a relaxed, family-friendly environment that has defined Emmy Squared Pizza since its inception in 2016.”

The brand also named Carrie Hart its new CFO. Hart also brings an impressive resume to Emmy Squared: she most recently served as executive vice president of accounting and finance at Snooze A.M. Eatery, an experiential casual dining restaurant company. Prior to Snooze, Hart held various financial leadership roles at Noodles & Company, where she helped manage the company through several private-equity transactions and an initial public offering. Hart began her career with Plante Moran, a regional public accounting firm servicing various industries.
Emmy Squared named Sergio PĂ©rez its senior vice president and head of marketing. PĂ©rez, who was once named to QSR magazine’s list of “35 Young Restaurant Leaders to Watch,” has held marketing roles with a host of successful quick-service concepts. Those brands include Bojangles, Church’s Chicken, Johnny Rockets, Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, Huddle House and Garden Fresh Restaurants.
Finally, Eva Love was appointed senior director of training for Emmy Squared Pizza. Love previously oversaw training and development at Black Rifle Coffee Company, Whiskey Cake, Sixty Vines, and Ida Claire, Huddle House and Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza.
Emmy Squared Pizza’s unique signature Detroit-style pizza is marked by its square shape, fluffy focaccia-like dough and cheesy “frico” crust. The pizza is edged with caramelized, crispy cheese, followed by two “racing” sauce stripes, creating an airy and crisp texture. Emmy Squared Pizza’s offerings include the widely popular Colony, featuring red sauce, ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños. The concept also menus a signature, award-winning burger, Le Big Matt, served on a pretzel bun with American cheese, special Sammy sauce, greens and pickles.
Now with 28 locations throughout the U.S., Emmy Squared Pizza has expanded across New York City, Washington, D.C. and into Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The brand will soon open locations in Las Vegas, Greenwich, Connecticut, and Charlottesville, Virginia.
