(Press Release), Tampa, FL, July 22, 2013 — A group of hospitalized children watched in amazement as award-winning pizzaiolo (pizza maker) Jamie Culliton of Grimaldi’s Pizzeria performed for them on July 15 in the lobby of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa. The two-time world champion pizza thrower tossed and twirled his way through the routines that have made him and his team world champions in the discipline. Following his routine, the children tried their hands at pizza throwing.
“The children really enjoyed it,” said Culliton. “Once they warmed up they were excited to participate and I hope we helped them forget their struggles even if only for a few minutes.”
Grimaldi’s Pizzeria plans to send gifts to those children who were unable to visit the lobby. Culliton has performed his routines for hundreds of guests at Grimaldi’s Pizzeria, including special presentations for children from Boys and Girls Clubs and other children’s hospitals.
