Grimaldi’s Pizzeria first began expanding outside New York in early 2003. To celebrate that 20-year anniversary, the company is releasing a special menu, according to a press release.

Key to the celebration menu: a New York hot dog pizza.

“Celebrating 20 years is a key milestone, so we knew we needed to do something equally special to celebrate,” Pam Nedwetzky, Grimaldi’s director of marketing, said. “We challenged our culinary manager, Hector Godinez, to come up with a never-before seen pizza. Marrying the traditional New York preparation of an all-beef hot dog with mustard, sauerkraut and onions on a pizza crust made perfect sense to celebrate this occasion. While it might seem like a strange combination to some, we wanted to create a menu item combining two iconic New York staples: pizza and hotdogs.”

The Celebration menu includes the NY Hot Dog Pizza as well as an Arugula Snap Salad; Confetti Cheesecake and Coconut Cream Cheesecake; the Bridge Board, a charcuterie plate; and special cocktails like the Peroni Coney Island Spritz and The Boulevard, made with Tincup whiskey, Cinzano sweet vermouth and Campari.

The menu will be available for dine-in and takeout from March 7 through June 6.

Grimaldi’s first location outside of New York opened in Scottsdale, Arizona, on February 14, 2003. The company currently has more than 40 locations across 11 states.
