10/12/10 NEW YORK, NY – ECOvention, LLC announced today that their flagship product the GreenBox will be honored at the Responsible Packaging Awards on October 14, 2010 at 4:00 PM at the Boston Convention Center.

Selected by the Responsible Packaging Project, the honorees at the Responsible Packaging Awards represent manufacturers and designers focused on ecologically responsible packaging as well as innovative design. ECOvention will receive an award for the GreenBox, which incorporates 100% post-consumer recycled content as well as an ingenious design that increases functionality for the consumer and drastically reduces the waste traditionally associated with pizza packaging.

The Responsible Packaging Project is a non-profit collaboration of the organic and natural products industry to drive ecologically and socially responsible packaging innovation. Its purpose is to raise the bar in company practices through open inquiry and cross-supply chain collaboration. Awards are given biannually to companies that are leading the way in the organic and natural industry. The draft Packaging Guidelines for the Organic Industry to provide a common “open source” framework that will guide action and catalyze innovation.

The GreenBox has received an exceptionally enthusiastic response from both restaurants and consumers after being placed in the spotlight by Ashton Kutcher via a ‘tweet’ to his Twitter followers.  Since then, the GreenBox has been the subject of unprecedented attention from both the mainstream media and the New Media world of blogs and social networking sites.
