According to a news report from Herald-Dispatch.com, “When you cross the bridge into Chesapeake from Huntington and take a left, it’s really hard to miss Monty’s Brick Oven Pizza.”
“If you haven’t been there in a while (say, since the ’60s), you might be in for a surprise. Monty’s was the first pizza restaurant established in Lawrence County, Ohio in 1961. Last April, Monty’s moved across the street to a larger location. Last month, the restaurant started opening for longer morning hours for its new breakfast menu. However, there are some things that just never change,” said the story. “The lady who bought our first pizza in 1961 still buys food here,” said Joe Donchatz, the owner of Monty’s.”
