According to KPHO.com, “A Glendale pizza maker will undergo a certification process Wednesday to join an elite group of pizza makers who adhere to strict guidelines dating back 300 years.”

“Chef Justin Piazza, the owner of La Piazza Al Forno at 5803 West Glendale Ave., hopes to join a distinct group of only 35 pizzerias in America to hold the certification of Verace Pizza Napoletana.

The Verace Pizza Napoletana is a legal entity able to give special designation to pizzerias who meet strict requirements that respect the tradition of the art of Neapolitan pizza making.
