GENERAL MILLS NAMES GREG SCHLAFER DIRECTOR, GENERAL MANAGER, BAKERY CHANNELS BUSINESS

MINNEAPOLIS (August 18, 2007) – General Mills has appointed Greg Schlafer to director, general manager, Bakery Channels in the company’s Bakeries & Foodservice division.  In his new role, he will provide leadership for business segments including In-store Bakery, Wholesale Bakery, Bakery Flour, Fresh Bread Solutions and will oversee the Pillsbury Baking Institute. Schlafer was most recently segment director of the division’s In-store Bakery team, a position he has held since 2006.

Schlafer started his career with General Mills in 1991 as a distribution management assistant at General Mills’ Vernon flour mill near Los Angeles before moving into numerous sales positions within Bakery Channels. In 2003, he was appointed to director of Bakery Flour.

Schlafer is currently a member of the board of directors of the North American Millers Association (NAMA) and the International Dairy-Deli-Bakery Association (IDDBA).  He also has spent two years serving the Retail Bakers of America (RBA) as an Allied Trades representative on their board of directors.
