Successful East Coast Expansion Continues with June 19th Grand Opening

FORKS, PA (June 19, 2007) – Washington-based Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza®, the first and only “gourmet” carry-out and delivery pizza chain, is taking the industry by storm, with further expansion into the eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey market. This confirmed expansion adds momentum to the plan of national development, with a second location opening in Forks Township, located at 308A Old Mill Road, near the light at Sullivan Trail, on Tuesday, June 19. Dwayne Northrop, chairman and CEO for Garlic Jim’s will be on hand to help celebrate the Forks grand opening!

“We’ve experienced much success with our first store and area-residents love the pizza,” says R. Sean Buckman, president and CEO, Francept, LLC, the sub-franchisor of the eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey market. “We hope that our second store opening will really drive home the Garlic Jim’s name to help expand our market and further introduce prospective franchisees to an incredible concept.”

In addition to the two Garlic Jim’s locations, a third store in Madison, NJ is on the horizon for Francept, which has nearly 70 franchise opportunities to sell in the eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey territory for those who are ready to be their own boss.

To help promote the June 19th grand opening, Francept will send out 8,000 ‘Meet the Manager’ coupons for a medium specialty pizza for pick up, free of charge. Residents will be given the option to upgrade their order to a large specialty pizza for $5. Additionally, a mock rush will take place Monday, June 18th, from 5 pm to 8 pm, to help staff get oriented with their delivery areas, as well as maintain proper delivery time, especially during busy periods like dinner. Coupons with specific ordering instructions will be given to area residents for a free, large specialty pizza if ordered and picked up during the specified time, while other lucky area residents will get their large specialty pizzas delivered, completely free of charge. Free pizzas will also be delivered to local businesses before the grand opening as store employees train to make that perfect Garlic Jim’s pizza.

The Forks location will be open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and can be reached at 610-438-5550.

2007 has already been a busy year for Garlic Jim’s. January 18, 2007, brought the announcement of a new 25-store sub-franchise agreement for the Denver, Colorado area. On February 6, 2007, Garlic Jim’s opened their first franchise for the Golden state in Valencia, California. A week later, on February 13, the Lakewood, Washington location held their grand opening, joining an already prosperous Washington market. Tampa-based L&D Ventures announced a 100-store sub-franchise agreement for Florida and Puerto Rico on March 1, 2007, followed closely with the first Garlic Jim’s bistro opening in the West Seattle Junction at the end of the same month. May brought the grand opening of the Snoqualmie, WA store and a new announcement that a sub-franchise agreement has been established with five southern states, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama to open 49 stores, with the first opening November 2007.

ABOUT GARLIC JIMS

Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza is proud to be the first pizza franchise to focus on quick delivery pizza made fresh with gourmet toppings. Garlic Jim’s in-store system and team member training allows them to make pizza in 15 minutes or less “from order to out the door,” thus pioneering the concept “Gourmet, Right Away.”

At Garlic Jim’s the term ‘gourmet’ signifies more than just the finished pizza – it refers to the finest ingredients: fresh packed sauces, fresh 100% whole-milk mozzarella and fresh dough made daily, where the customer can certainly taste the difference. Garlic Jim’s offers customers two crust choices; hand-thrown thick crust, made with parmesan cheese and buttermilk, or garlic thin; four cheese options: 100% whole-milk mozzarella, cheddar, feta and parmesan; seven sauces: classic red, garlic basil, basil pesto, zesty chipotle pesto, creamy ranch, smoky sweet BBQ or fresh basil and olive oil, and a variety of meats, vegetables and gourmet toppings such as roasted garlic, marinated artichoke hearts, corn salsa and sun-dried tomatoes.

With gourmet pizzas such as Nutty Chipotle™, zesty chipotle pesto topped with spicy sausage, pepperoni, red onions, tomatoes and cashews, Jim’s Gourmet Garlic™, basil pesto sauce, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese, and Chicken Bacon Ranch, grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions and creamy ranch sauce, Garlic Jim’s is putting a new spin on pizza.  “We’ve gone out of our way to source the best ingredients available to create our specialty pizzas and as a result we also have the best tasting pepperoni pizza you will ever find,” says Northrop.

Garlic Jim’s has grown from two open stores in 2004 to 36 open stores and 93 franchises sold in 2006.  In addition to current locations in Oregon, Arizona, California, Pennsylvania and Washington, Garlic Jim’s has stores under development in New Jersey, Colorado, Florida, Tennessee and Texas. With projections of doubling in size in 2007, Garlic Jim’s is sure to become the fastest growing gourmet pizza franchise in the country.
