After launching its franchise program in 2022, Timber Pizza Co., founded in 2014 as a pizza truck by “two guys and a chef,” has its second franchisee.

The company said Mark Barnett is its new franchise partner, and he’ll open a Timber Pizza store in Raleigh, North Carolina, this fall.

Andrew Dana and Chris Brady were selling pizzas out of a 1967 Chevy pickup truck when Moreira, who’d recently graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, joined the team. In 2016, the trio opened their first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Petworth, Washington, D.C. They’ve also got a “fun-sized” location in Ballston Square Market in Arlington, Virginia.

Timber Pizza Co.’s first franchise location opened at Ronald Reagan Airport under Jackmont Hospitality, an airport concession company. The brand also has three food trucks running in the DMV area and Richmond, Virginia.

Their menu features “green,” “red” and “white” pizzas, with the green ones sporting a pesto sauce. Featured items include The Bentley (tomato sauce, provolone and mozzarella, cured chorizo, soppressata, Peruvian sweet peppers and spicy honey); The Lot (provolone and mozz, slow-roasted pork, bread-and-butter jalapeños, pineapple and micro-cilantro); The Worthy (provolone and mozzarella, sous vide chicken thighs, Carolina BBQ drizzle, red onions, fresh nectarines and micro-cilantro); and the Green Monster (pesto, fresh mozz, feta, zucchini and kale).

Brady, now the president of Timber Pizza Co., said Raleigh is an ideal location for the brand. “We’ve spent over two years in and around the Triangle. The moment we first came through, we knew Raleigh was where we wanted to launch Timber Carolina.”
