Danniel Hernandez is just 21 years old, but he owns his own Pizza Truck, Pizza Papi, on the south side of San Antonio.
The young entrepreneur opened the food truck in November 2023, KENS 5 reports, as a way to forge his own path in the foodservice business. Hailing from a family of Mexican restaurateurs, Herndandez felt like he identified a hole in the market when it came to pizza.
“We had many restaurants in the south side just selling tacos and that’s what we specialized in and we decided why not pizza?” Hernandez told KENS 5. “Who doesn’t like pizza and a pizza food truck is just something you don’t see out here.”

The pies at Pizza Papi, KENS 5 reports, are typically 14” with a thin, buttery crust. Fan favorite pies include the Meat Lovers and the Sucia Supreme: pepperoni, sausage, jalapenos, onions and olives.

There’s also a Pizza Pastor that may be especially popular in the local market where Pizza Papi makes its home.
“Something homemade, fresh and local is always good for the community,” Hernandez said. “Everybody seems to love it and it’s been real good.”
Pizzas run from $12-$15, and the truck sits in a standalone location, open Tuesdays through Sundays from 2 to 9 p.m.
