Hillsboro, OR – FireFly Technologies, the developers of the Phoenix™ Point-of-Sale system for pizza and delivery restaurants, today reminded the pizza community of the upcoming application deadline for its new scholarship program. The company will award one $1,000 scholarship to a pizza restaurant employee who will be attending an accredited 2-year or 4-year college or university or technical school during the 2007-2008 school year.

The deadline for all application materials to be postmarked is April 30, 2007. Announcement of the winning recipients will be made before May 31, 2007.

“We are pleased to support talented members of the pizza community who wish to further their education,” said FireFly managing partner Duessa Holscher. “It is an opportunity for us to give a little extra help to someone who is working hard for a successful future. We encourage interested parties to apply immediately to meet the month-end deadline.”

The scholarship is open to any United States resident who is currently employed by a pizza restaurant, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Special consideration will be given to applicants who are studying or plan to study technology; however, this is not a pre-requisite for application.
