The food and hospitality industry in Queensland is set to come together from 9-11 March, 2008 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for its bi-annual Fine Food & Hospitality Queensland exhibition.

Fine Food will feature hundreds of exhibitors with the latest food, drink and equipment ideas for supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, cafes, hotels, resorts, pubs and clubs.

Exhibition Director, Timothy Collett, says there will be approximately 250 companies on display attracting more than 8,000 visitors from the retail and foodservice sectors.

“The market in Queensland remains strong and companies are keen to meet and exchange ideas. This show is ideally placed to bring together all the serious buyers and sellers in the food and hospitality sectors”.

The show will be divided into product areas to help buyers find what they need more readily.  These include special sections for drinks, meat, seafood, natural products, bakery and NEW to this year’s event  “Wine & Spirits” where buyers can sample a wide range of wines and spirits and speak to the producers direct about their special needs. This is a great opportunity for restaurants and hotels to build a profitable wine list.

Food companies booked in for the show include well known brands such as Dairy Farmers, Simplot, Inghams, Unilever and KR Castlemaine. Local identities include The Natural Yoghurt Company, Le’ Petit Gourmet, Solomon Food Group, Visco Fine Food, Mithiko and many more.

Running alongside Fine Food is Hospitality Queensland.  Companies booked into this show represent all the major product categories – from the shopfront to the kitchen to the tabletop. They include Comcater, Stoddart, JL Lennard, Moffat, Dudson, Palmteq and Sleepmaker.

In addition to the hundreds of exhibitors there will also be a series of special events.  These include the Queensland Pie Competition, and running for the first time, the Salon Culinaire which will feature three kitchens, a restaurant and many qualified competitors.

A small number of stands are still available in the show. Companies looking to exhibit should call the organisers on 03 9261 4500 or visit the website at www.foodqueensland.com.au

Retail and foodservice buyers can also visit the website for free visitor registration.
