The Wise Guys and the Dough Doctor Plan Visits as well as Dough Spinning Acrobats
NORWALK, CT February 14, 2007— This year’s 3rd Annual New York Pizza Show at the Jacob Javits Convention Center promises to include more information, competition, and presentations than ever before. Co-located with the 2007 International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York from Sunday, March 4 through Tuesday, March 6, attendees can visit over 600 exhibitors spread out over 1,000 booths at the combined events. The New York Pizza Show is presented by PMQ Pizza Magazine.  The International Restaurant & Foodservice Show of New York is the New York State Restaurant Association’s premier event, and is the largest gathering of restaurant and foodservice professionals on the East Coast.

At the New York Pizza Show attendees can look forward to the Pizza Industry Info Center-the best place to gather information and solve problems in the ever changing world of pizza. Gathered together in one spot on the New York Pizza Show floor, attendees can talk with chefs, dough experts, equipment professionals and collect industry facts and information on operations and marketing.

In addition, the Dough Fitness Center will be manned by Tom Lehmann, known and revered as “the Dough Doctor.” Lehmann will be on-site performing three demonstrations per day. He’ll take the audience from start to finish in the dough-making process and answer dough-related questions. This special vendor-sponsored area will have all the necessary equipment including a dough mixer, divider, baler, sheeter, press and an oven.

One of the highlights of the New York Pizza Show will be a visit by the Wise Guys, known nationwide through their radio broadcast on SIRIUS satellite radio.  The Wise Guys will showcase their new line of meatballs. This product uses a blend of USDA pork and beef and a flavorful gourmet seasoning blend and is manufactured by Buona Vita, Inc.  The Wise Guys are, Vincent “Big Pussy” Pastore, well known from the Sopranos on HBO. The Wise Guys will be joined by their Pussy’s Posse: John “ChaCha” Ciarcia, unofficial mayor of Little Italy; “Brooklyn” Joe Causi, the pride of “the only borough that matters”;  Joe “Joey Rags” Rigano,  one of Big Pussy’s movie buddies; and “Uncle Floyd” Vivino, one of the hardest working men in show business.

The New York Pizza Show will also feature pizza competitions, drawing competitors from all over the world. During this annual competition, judges will search for the best the pizza industry has to offer in the culinary category and acrobatic dough spinning.   These events will take place live on the show floor. Cheer the dough acrobats as they compete for a coveted spot on the US Pizza Team, and don’t miss the America’s Plate competition as chefs from around the world battle it out for first place.  Competitions include: individual acrobatic dough tossing, fastest pizza making and largest dough stretch and will take place each day from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.
