Emmy Squared Pizza, founded in Brooklyn in 2016, has expanded beyond its initial cult-favorite status to become a nationwide Detroit-style brand with mass appeal. Now it’s launching a new springtime menu and celebrating the grand opening of its latest store on Saturday, April 26, in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Emmy Squared currently boasts 29 locations and was featured in PMQ Pizza’s “15 Pizza Brands to Watch” report in April 2025. Bringing together the culinary traditions of Motown pizza and Brooklyn creativity, the brand has built a coast-to-coast fan base with its creative flavor combinations, elevated cocktails, bold flavors and inventive culinary approach.

Taking that one step further, Emmy Squared recently introduced a new lineup of seasonal dishes, expanded its lunch service and started offering new cocktails. The chain brought back its popular Emmy Pizza (banana peppers, red onions and housemade green ranch) along two other new pizzas: the Metsiah (Ezzo pepperoni, Italian sausage, thick-cut bacon and shaved ribeye) and the Mediterranean Ribeye (shaved sirloin, sauteed spinach, Kalamata olives, caramelized onions and confit garlic).

The brand also rolled out the new Le Bleu burger, a double-stacked hamburger featuring a half-pound of Black Angus beef blended from chuck, brisket and short rib. It’s topped with blue cheese crumbles, Emmy’s signature Sammy sauce, thick-cut bacon, caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms on a toasted pretzel bun.

New cocktails include the “bold and fiery” H&H Margarita and the bourbon-based Espresso Yourself, both showcasing mixers from North Carolina-based Spirits of Alchemy. Another highlight is the Dos Fashioned, featuring Dos Hombres Mezcal.

Meanwhile, Emmy Squared now offers lunch service at 20 locations, with menu items like the Brooklyn Bite—a Detroit-style slice that can be ordered with a side salad—as well as Single Stack Sandwiches, which are lighter portions of the chain’s burgers and sandwiches.

For the grand opening of the Charlottesville location, the first 25 guests in line will score free pizza for a year, redeemable as one pizza per month from Emmy Squared’s most popular offerings: the Colony, Classic or Vodka. Local radio station Hot 101.9 will be on site with a live DJ, swag giveaways, and prize drawings throughout the event. Giveaways include a grand prize MacBook, AirPods, free pizza cards, and EMILY cookbooks. Guests can also snap selfies with a live mural wall painting by a local artist.

“The opening of our Charlottesville location marks an exciting chapter in the growth of the Emmy Squared brand,” said Troy Tracy, CEO of Emmy Squared Pizza. “As we continue to expand into new markets, our focus remains on delivering the high-quality food and hospitality that have earned us a loyal following. We’re proud to bring our Detroit-style crust and Brooklyn soul to Charlottesville and look forward to becoming part of the local community.”
