As consumers are seeking out more affordable menu options, Donatos Pizza, based in Columbus, Ohio, with 175 stores and nearly 300 nontraditional locations nationwide, has debuted its new Bakery Crust Pizza.
The community-focused brand, featured on PMQ’s March 2023 cover, notes that its new pizza is designed with families in mind, featuring a square-cut, thicker, bakery-style crust, topped with smoked provolone cheese and Donatos Pizza’s usual array of toppings. The company said its new hearty crust delivers “exceptional value for a family-friendly meal.”
The Bakery Crust Pizza is cut into nine square pieces and can be ordered with a choice of up to three toppings. In a special introductory offer, customers can enjoy two single-topping Bakery Crust Pizzas for just $19.99 (or one for $11.99)—an ideal option “for budget-conscious families looking for a quality meal that does not compromise on flavor or value,” according to a press release from Donatos.
“We understand the importance of offering meals that are not only delicious but also affordable, especially during challenging economic times,” said Jodie Conrad, chief marketing officer at Donatos Pizza. “Our new Bakery Crust Pizza is a perfect option for families who want to enjoy a hearty, quality meal without overspending.”
The new offering launched at all Donatos Pizza locations on August 19.
Earlier this year, Donatos launched a limited-time Stuffed Crust Pizza, aimed at Gen Z and Millennial customers. Donatos’ signature thin crust was generously filled with mozzarella and roasted garlic. That offer ran from March 25 through May 19.
Donatos Pizza was founded by Jim Grote in 1963 in Columbus, Ohio, and remains a family-owned business known for its thin-crust pizzas with abundant toppings spread “Edge to Edge,” a designation the company has trademarked. The franchise brand is also growing fast, with more than 150 new locations planned for 2024.
