"What child does not love pizza and Italian Ice? That was the thinking behind Domino Pizza’s Pizzathon, which began Monday, July 9, and will run through July 15. Eleven Domino’s locations throughout New Castle County will donate 10 percent of sales throughout the week to benefit the children at Nemours A.I. duPont Hospital during this second annual event," according to The Community News.

"In order to raise even more money year, Rita’s Italian Ice is also contributing by scooping free cherry water ice at participating Domino’s locations from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Jay Finney, who manages a Rita’s location in New Castle, said that the collaboration between Rita’s and Domino’s came about after looking for an opportunity to cross-promote. “When corporate from Rita’s sat down with corporate from Domino’s and heard about the fundraiser for Nemours, it was an easy partnership,” he said. “When you give from the heart it goes a lot further,” Finney said."
