According to Nation’s Restaurant News, “starting Monday, Domino’s Pizza is offering large one-topping pizzas with extra cheese for $5.99 each, for carryout only, in a weeklong promotion the company is calling National Customer Appreciation Week.”

“To promote the event, Domino’s is distributing fliers on cars telling the drivers how many pizzas will fit in their trunks: 51 for a sub-compact, 88 for a sedan, 149 for an SUV. In addition, Domino’s will place a single flier stating that a car has a trunk capacity of 256 pizzas on the windshield of a car parked near a participating U.S. Domino’s location, and the recipient will receive free pizza for a year. Domino’s also is promoting the $5.99 deal on Twitter and said it would give away gift cards for every 599 new followers it gets on the social networking platform. Five $20 cards will be given away to random followers for the first 599, and the gift card amount will increase with every 599 new followers after that, up to a value of $100. Domino’s operates or franchises 8,886 restaurants.”
