Hillsboro, OR – FireFly Technologies has announced the release of a completely enhanced table-service software feature included within the Phoenix Point-of-Sale system.

“Providing a pleasurable dining experience depends on so many factors: table placement, timing of courses, server management, ease of payment,” says FireFly marketing director Duessa Holscher. “We are striving to give operators tools right within their POS system that simplify dining room and server management and provide their customers with an enjoyable meal.”

New features include “hold-and-fire” printing to manage the timing of courses, order by seat, flexible check printing capabilities, pay by seat or sets of seats, split tickets by item, and credit card tabs for easier bar operations.

All of these features are part of Phoenix’s visual table-service module that uses graphics for simplified dining room design and easy order management. Phoenix also provides complete server management, including tip reporting, a server settle process, and numerous reports.

The table-service features in Phoenix POScomplements the system’s robust delivery functionality, making the Phoenix system an attractive choice for full-service operations that offer both dining-room and delivery service.

G’s Pizzeria & Deli in Michigan uses Phoenix POS to manage table and bar operations in several of their locations. “We have large restaurants; the one in West Branch has five dining rooms and can seat up to 400 people,” says Adam Galea, manager of the Traverse City store. “Our servers love how visual Phoenix is. They can recall their orders by simply clicking on the table on the screen. It’s a great convenience—especially when we’re busy.”

Simplifying the ordering and payment processes enhances customer service. Phoenix POS allows servers to associate a menu item by seat or can split a single item among seats, which helps when presenting the check. Checks can be printed individually by seat, by sets of seats, or one ticket with subtotals by seat.

For restaurants with bars, Phoenix POS also offers credit card tabs. A bartender swipes the customer’s credit card, returns it to the customer, and keeps a running tab. If a customer leaves suddenly, the restaurant is guaranteed payment.

“We relied on our own years in point-of-sale design and restaurant management to develop these table-service enhancements,” says Holscher. “We modified the designs based on customer input at our user convention and customer feedback submitted via our ‘software suggestions’ button within the POS system. Like most of our development, this feature was very restaurant-owner driven and will prove to be a big time-saver for our customers.”
