A selection of tasty Detroit-style pies matched with a celebrity-backed beer brand, all in a pizza kit for customers to enjoy at home? That’s the unique idea behind Emmy Squared Pizza’s, new Perfect Pairings promotion, which kicked off nationwide on February 4, just in time for the Super Bowl and National Pizza Day.
Emmy Squared, celebrated for its Detroit pizzas and award-winning burgers, has teamed up with BERO, a premium non-alcoholic beer founded by actor Tom Holland, in an exclusive collaboration that “redefines pizza and beer nights,” according to a press release.
The trio of pairing kits is now available nationwide through Goldbelly and at Emmy Squared Pizza locations. They include:
Detroit-Style Pizza & BERO Kingston Golden Pils Kit: This pairing features a choice of two Detroit-style pizzas, like the Colony Pizza (Ezzo pepperoni, pickled jalapeños and honey) or the MVP Pizza (vodka sauce, parsley pesto and sesame seed crust). They’re paired with BERO Kingston Golden Pils, a crisp, refreshing lager-style beer with just the right touch of bitterness, inspired by Holland’s roots in Kingston, England.
Le Big Matt Burger & BERO Edge Hill Hazy IPA Kit: This kit comes with four Le Big Matt Burgers, featuring double-stacked grass-fed beef patties, Emmy Sauce, pickles and a soft pretzel bun. They’re paired with BERO Edge Hill Hazy IPA, a tropical, smooth beer bursting with flavor and named after Holland’s school days in England.
Ultimate Emmy Squared Pizza & BERO Noon Wheat Kit: This pairing offers one Detroit-style pizza and two Le Big Matt Burgers with BERO Noon Wheat, a light, refreshing beer with hints of orange and lime that’s designed for unwinding moments.
Emmy Squared’s signature Detroit-style pizzas—known for their fluffy, focaccia-like dough and caramelized, crispy cheese crust—”combine exceptionally” with BERO’s non-alcoholic beers, the brand said, catering to modern food lovers seeking unique flavor combinations and high-quality ingredients.
“At Emmy Squared, we’re passionate about crafting unforgettable dining experiences,” said Sergio Pérez, SVP, head of marketing at Emmy Squared Pizza. “Partnering with BERO allows us to bring our innovative creations to even more people.”
Launched in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, in 2016, Emmy Squared Pizza now has 29 locations across the U.S. Founded by Emily Hyland and executive chef Matthew Hyland, it quickly gained a cult following that led to rapid expansion across New York City and into Nashville, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and Louisville, Kentucky.
The London-born Holland, meanwhile, co-created BERO with John Herman. In a January 2, 2025 article, Forbes said the non-alcoholic beer brand “could be the next big thing.” BERO “positions itself at the forefront of a growing movement towards mindful drinking,” the article stated.
“In an industry now seemingly dominated by celebrity-backed drinks, Holland obviously isn’t the first to go this route, but he is one of the first to dedicate his efforts to a zero-proof beer brand, a decision that could reshape perceptions of sobriety and wellness in mainstream culture,” the Forbes article continued.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Emmy Squared, a brand that shares BERO’s passion for giving a fresh and elevated twist to a beloved classic,” said Jackie Widmann, VP of marketing at BERO. “Together, we’ve created a unique dining experience that caters to our consumers’ evolving tastes, allowing them to have it all: enjoying mindful indulgence without sacrificing the things they love.”
